Mashiko ware boasts the tasteful appearance of earthenware. A thick & simply designed piece.
Thanks to Shoji Hamada, a ceramic artisan who led a folk-arts movement together with Soetsu Yanagi, Mashiko is known as a place of folk-art pottery.
Its design features traditional functional beauty which has been handed down through generations in the region.
Despite its simple texture, the novel design of this tableware matches the mood of modern times. Its contrast between white and brown makes dishes look more attractive.
